I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University previously known as Punjab Technical University is a State University located at Kapurthala highway, Jalandhar, India. IKGPTU was established by an Act of State Legislature on 16th January 1997. The purpose of I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University is to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state at degree level and above. In the honor to Late Sh. Inder Kumar Gujral, Former Prime Minister of India, in 2015, Punjab Technical University and renamed as I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University by State Government. IKGPTU is affiliated by UGC (University Grants Commission). The campus of The IKGPTU has 78.16 acres of land with the covered area of more than 5.0 lacs square feet.
