▸ A new industrial policy has introduced by the Chhattisgarh government to provide a special incentive package for the investment in the Ultra-mega project of steel sectors and sponge iron. The government increased the region-wise subsidy limit from 60 percent to 150 percent and the maximum incentive is Rs 500 crore (Rs 1,000 crore for Bastar) for sponge iron and steel sectors. The government also said that at the time of COVID-19, the state has produced nearly 27 lakh tons of steel, which is the highest in the country.
▸ The profit of the State Bank of India is increased by 52 percent (Rs 4,574 crore) in the period of July-September (second quarter) of 2020-21.
