HTML Tutorial | Hyperlink


HTML hyperlink is used to jump from one web page to another web page in the website.

  • A hyperlink is a text or an image inwhich we can click on and jump to another web page.
  • HTML Links allow users to click and help to move from one web page to another web page.
  • Syntax: <a href="url"> link text </a>
  • href stands for Hyperlink Refrence (hyperlink address).
  • url stands for Uniform Resource Locator(where our resource is located).
Example:
   <a href="http://www.pooripadhai.com">Go to PooriPadhai Home</a>

Target attribute

Target attribute is used to enhance the property of link or hyperlink.

Target value Description
_blank Opens the linked document in a new window or tab
_self Opens the linked document in the same frame as it was clicked (this is default)
_parent Opens the linked document in the parent frame
_top Opens the linked document in the full body of the window
framename Opens the linked document in a named frame

Example:
   <a href="http://www.pooripadhai.com" target="_blank">PooriPadhai open in new tab.</a>
